Send the invoice before you leave

The best time to invoice is while the client is standing in the finished room. Open the signed estimate on your phone and create the invoice from it.

Texted from your own number

Tap Text message, and BuildWell opens your phone’s Messages app with the invoice link and a message already written. It comes from your number, the one your client already has saved, so they know exactly who it’s from.

The client opens the link in any browser, with no app or account to set up. Nothing to print, nothing to mail.

Photos of the finished work

Attach up to 10 photos to an invoice, so the client sees the work they’re paying for. So do you, when a question comes up months later.

If you made a before-and-after render for the job, it can print as a page after the invoice too.

Get a signature on the spot

When you want the client to sign off on the final bill, hand them your phone. Collect client signature opens a pad where they type their name and sign with a finger.

If the client isn’t home when you finish, turn on Ask for signature instead. Either way, the sign-off stays with the invoice it belongs to.

01Does BuildWell work on iPhone and Android?
Yes. There are apps for iPhone and Android, and a web app for your computer. One account and one subscription cover all three, and your estimates, invoices and clients stay in sync between them wherever you sign in.
02Can a client sign the invoice on my phone?
Yes. Use Collect client signature, and the client types their name and signs with a finger on your phone. BuildWell records the name, signature and date. You can also ask for a signature through the invoice link instead.
03How do I record a cash or Zelle payment?
Open the invoice and record the payment with the amount, the method (cash, check, Zelle, Venmo, Cash App, PayPal or other) and a note. You can’t record more than the balance, and partial payments add up until the invoice is paid.
04Can clients pay by card from the link?
Yes, once you connect Stripe. The invoice link shows Pay by card and Pay by bank buttons, and the payment is recorded on the invoice automatically. BuildWell adds no fee of its own; Stripe’s processing fee applies at cost.
05Can I add photos to an invoice?
Yes. Attach up to 10 photos to an invoice, and they print two across on their own pages after it. Before-and-after renders you’ve made in the phone app can print as pages after the invoice too.
06Will BuildWell remind my client to pay?
No. BuildWell reminds you, on your phone and in the Inbox, when an invoice is due in two days and when it’s overdue. Send reminder re-shares the link so you can nudge the client yourself, in your own words.
07How do I send a receipt?
When an invoice is paid in full, use Share receipt. BuildWell writes a short message you can send by text or email, and the invoice can print with a paid stamp if you want one on the PDF.
08Can I send invoices from my computer too?
Yes. Invoices you start on your phone show up in the web app, and the other way around. Send from either one, and the client gets the same link, the same look and the same pay buttons.
09Can I invoice in Spanish?
Yes. Use the app in English or Spanish, and print any invoice in either language, whatever language the app is set to. The client’s invoice page and pay page are in Spanish too when the invoice is.
10How much does the app cost?
